Interesting fact: Before they brought Halloween to the Americas, they used to carve turnips.

Actually, it wasn't quite Halloween yet, if I remember right. I do remember it had something to do with Druid tradition, though.

Whoever thought of carving up vegetables and leaving them outside to rot must have been screwed up in the head. -someone who had the pleasure of having to walk past a rotten, pinkish looking pumpkin in the morning.
