+252 George Bush had 10years to screw america up and you really expect Obama to fix everything in 1year? Give the guy a break, amirite or, amirite?

by Anonymous 10 years ago

You're wrong. Bush only had 8 years, and you can't be going around saying that he screwed up America. He may have made a few poor choices, but being president isn't an easy job. Give the guy a break!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactly, it is a hard job and Obama on top of that has to clean up Bush's mistakes. So all the criticism on Obama isn't really fair,

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, being the president isn't an easy job, so give Obama a break, too.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Agreed. P.S: I like your "amirite or amirite" :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Bush had 8years (chocolatecakeisbad was right) so he deserves all the criticism he gets.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

8 years, 10 years, either way he had a much longer time to screw up the country versus Obama's 1 year to fix it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

more like 16 years, there were two bushes, the first idiot was bad enough, what made those inbred hicks in the south think that another one would be good?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The first Bush only served one term, and name-calling doesn't validate your point, it just emphasizes that your judging subjectively instead of empirically.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why in the world would you stereotype people like that?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

its not totally bush's fault. he got elected into the most fucked up time to get elected

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thats pretty true. He did have two pretty tough terms in office.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Other countries thought, when we elected him the first time, "oh, well, maybe they just made a mistake", the second time, "wow, how stupid can you get?" I'm not here to criticize Bush, but so far, I think Obama has done a hell of a good job. Just my personal opinion.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Amen to That!! Electing the Bushes wasn't a great idea, but America was on the track of fixing that when they elected Obama, who _in my personal opinion and most of the people's I know_ is doing hell of a great job.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

one quick little fact: obama pledged to keep the unemployment percentage under 8%. it's what, 11% now?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well you cant expect him to do it instantly, give the guy a break. by the time his first term is over, you can expect it to be under 8

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i'll hold you to that but keep in mind it was below 8 when he started

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yea, and during the middle/beginning of the recession when it started. What did you expect?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

well...i'd assume he'd keep it low. however, he has not

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Kevinmat is right. 99% of americans make the other 1% look bad!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

/cough Obama isn't really helping. Didn't he just pass a health care bill that will put is into more debt than we're already in? And didn't he have everyone hide the studies that would proved how worse off we'd be if it passed? Obama isn't helping. At all.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wait! Scratch that. He isn't helping any of the people who work for a living. The people who live off of unemployment are benefiting immensely.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Funny enough today in geography were were watching Food Inc, a documentary about food. Basically there was this part where this family was talking about how they'd like to buy healthier foods since they were always eating fast foods, but couldn't because they had to buy medication. All I could think was: Thank God Canada has free health care. To be honest I don't get the deal with the whole free health care thing. It's actually wonderful.

Im just worried Obama's gonna make the U.S yet another socialist country before i even get a chance to live there

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Goodness, is "Socialist" like a curse word in America? First, other countries won't let that happen to us because of how powerful we are. Second, it is not possible for ONE person to completely change well over 200 some odd years of capitalism. Third, even IF this impossible thing were to happen, several Socialist countries are doing extremely well, such as Denmark and Sweden. So you have nothing to worry about.

FYI: it's only eight, so maybe if u wanna get even more ppl to like this post, learn to count.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It is fun to read an older post like this and the thread to see how many people got Obama wrong by calling him the great one! We are now 5.5 years into his hope and change, and things are looking far worse than anything Bush ever did. It will be interesting to see who America chooses next.
