+167 It's good to have doctors with lots of training to be able to diagnose anything, but diagnosing something like the cold or the flu shouldn't have to require somebody with a medical degree and having to spend tons of money for a very simple diagnosis, amirite?

Why would you even go to the doctor if all you have is a cold or the flu?

I hear our generation is going to have a shortage of doctors because nobody wants to spend so much time in school. What's wrong with kids these days? Before, it used to be that little boys and girls wanted to be doctors and help people.

Plenty of people want to be a doctor, but there is so much more to it than wanting to save lives. Not only is it ridiculously difficult to get through college, but it's even harder to get into medical school. After that, it's hard to even have that much of a life when you are a doctor, because you can't really do that job if you aren't almost 100% devoted to it. When you actually consider the realities of being a doctor, it really doesn't sound all that attractive to a lot of people.

I know. That's why I'm saying that people are saying there's gonna be a shortage of doctors.

Okay then, but it sounded like you were annoyed about the fact that kids don't want to be a doctor anymore.
