Really? To me it's the opposite, since when my hands are frozen they're basically numb and already feel like they're hurting.

I crushed my thumb a while ago and it was probably fifteen to twenty degrees out... the pain was just that much more unbearable (keep in mind I was ten or eleven at the time).
