The bar at the bottom of shopping carts was made to be stood upon and rode, amirite?

Ack, *ridden? You wouldn't say "I have rode", now would you?
by Anonymous12 years ago
No. You would say "I rode a bike" or "I have ridden a bike."

Yeah, that's what I mean. Like "The bar was meant to be ridden" and "It's meant to be stood upon" or "It's meant to be slePT in" or "It's meant to be eatEN (not ate)". The same conjugation applies here as in I have ridden.

I had a 50/50 chance. I guessed, and failed

It's actually 100% if you know grammar. By your logic, that entire sentence is 50/50 and it's actually correct, what are the odds? Why didn't you say "I guess and fail" or "guessing and failing"? You knew which one to use, and that's how "ridden" works too.
