It's disappointing when you learn that one of your favorite actors or musicians is a smoker, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
It wasn't disappointing when I read that Joseph Gordon-Levitt smokes; it //was// disappointing when I read that he also smokes weed. I don't know if that's true, though.

Your comment disappoints me.
by Anonymous12 years ago
If they smoke cigarettes then I'm chill, but it is hard for me to really respect an artist if they do drugs or drink excessively, no matter how good the music.

The beatles??
by Anonymous12 years ago
That person may not necessarily respect the beatles either.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's a though one, I didn't think of them. I don't really like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds or Stawberry Feilds Forever, too trippy for me, but a lot of their other stuff I do. I'm not a huge fan of them like other people are.

nicotine is a drug...
by Anonymous11 years ago
Why be disappointed because someone does something they enjoy? Give me a break!
by Anonymous12 years ago
They are harming themselves. And in the long run, it will come around to bite them in the ass.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Who are we to tell others how to live their lives.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I highly disapprove of smoking, but I also agree with your comment. Yes, smoking is harmful, and yes, it should not be encouraged. But as long as it doesn't harm anyone else, I don't think anyone has the right to tell them what to do. The only exception to that, I think, would be if you were a good friend of the smoker and you were trying to look out for them.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's true. But this is also the reason people are disappointed in an idol when they find out that the idol smokes. It's just like "I like you so much, and you are an amazing person, and I don't want you to hurt yourself."
by Anonymous12 years ago
i think smoking cigarettes is stupid, there is no reason for it. Weed on the other hand actually serves some semblance of a purpose.
by Anonymous12 years ago
How so?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Medicinal purposes, a release from a stressful life (the same could be said of cigarettes) and rejection of the prohibition of marijuana.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Well yes, there's that, but using too much of it is really bad and you will most likely end up hurting yourself. I probably sound super ignorant though, because I have never taken any sort of drug like that.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I have experience with the plant (not drug) and so far i haven't hurt myself on anyone. the side effects include hungry sleepy happy.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Well are you addicted?
by Anonymous12 years ago
More ignorance. One cannot become addicted to marijuana because there are no addictive properties in it.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Well people always told me that nicotine is more addictive than marijuana, implying that marijuana is at least slightly addicting. Jeez, that's not ignorance, its a thirteen year old kid not knowing every last thing about marijuana.
by Anonymous12 years ago
no no, that is the definition of ignorance.
it isnt necessarily a bad thing, like i am ignorant to quantum physics. it just means i dont know anything about quantum physics. and marijuana is less addictive than coffee which by the way is worse for you than marijuana.
by Anonymous12 years ago
It's more like you look up to them and respect them, and (for me at least) smoking ruins that.
by Anonymous12 years ago
They don't have to be famous. I'm a singer, and I've known a large number of singers my age. it disappoints me every time I find out that one of them smokes. I find it stupid, and it makes me feel as if they don't value their voices. The same goes if they play an instrument like, say, the tuba where you need strong lungs.
by Anonymous12 years ago
what about like Andy Hull or Kurt Travis? Cigs practically made their voice.

adele :(

Josh Ramsay :(
by Anonymous12 years ago
Kid cudi, snoop dog, pretty much every single rapper alive or dead has smoked, whether it be cigaretts or the more likely, weed.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Why does everyone on this site seem to equate smokers with nazis?
by Anonymous12 years ago
We don't. We just don't want anybody to hurt themselves.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Who gives a shit? If they're really your favorite anything else shouldn't even matter.
by Anonymous12 years ago
No. I respect talented actors and musicians because they are talented actors and musicians. I don't care if they smoke, drink, or do whatever. They aren't hurting anyone else by smoking.
