People who want to ban guns have most likely never even shot a gun, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I've never shot a gun, but that doesn't mean that I don't see the dangers of letting just any old Joe get one.
I don't want guns banned, just making a point.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I want automatic weapons banned. There's no true reason for them.
by Anonymous12 years ago
go shoot one. fun as hell
by Anonymous12 years ago
because people like them. No true reason for cigarettes either, the buzz they get could be obtained by far less dangerous things, however, go tell a smoker that and you'll just be told to fuck off because they enjoy them.
by Anonymous12 years ago
You can't ban something simply because there is no reason for it. There is no good reason to own a plastic flamingo, but you shouldn't ban it. The only things that should be banned are things so dangerous that they threaten the order of society like heroine and atomic weapons.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Please tell the parents of te victims of Columbine that automatic weapons are only as dangerous as a plastic flamingo.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Perhaps a plastic flamingo is not a good analogy. However, I will be happy to tell the parents of Columbine victims that swimming pools are way more dangerous than guns because it's actually true.

Pools don't murder people. When someone does in a pool it's an accident.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Guns also don't murder people either, they are inanimate objects. If you wanted to kill someone you could shoot them with a gun or drown them in a pool. Hell, you could even beat them to death with a plastic flamingo. The point is that pools are more of a threat to the average American than guns are even though there are way more guns than swimming pools. If you are so concerned about banning dangerous items, you should ban swimming pools, not guns.

You could start a car with a screw driver if you wanted. But keys are easier. Guns kill people.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Guns are inanimate objects. Inanimate objects don't chase people around and kill them. Why are you talking about cars all of a sudden?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Or theyve never read the Constitution. they are wasting their time
by Anonymous12 years ago
first of all, the constitution says "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
you planning on joining the militia then are you?
second of all, some people who have fired a gun can know that guns can lead to accidents
by Anonymous12 years ago
That sentence is like saying, "Fisherman, being necessary to the to the feeding of a free state, the right of the PEOPLE to own boats shall not be infringed." It states the militia as a reason, not a requirement, to owning guns.
by Anonymous12 years ago
yes, but you are a free state, and adding gun vendors on the street wont add to security, only paranoia.
i do however, agree. boat laws really should be enforced more. not to mention that not every place has the american constitution, but that goes without saying (hopefully)
by Anonymous12 years ago
We're a free state because of the rights guaranteed to us by the constitution, not in spite of them.
by Anonymous12 years ago
then maybe you shouldnt do selective reading of it
by Anonymous12 years ago
Please explain to me how I'm doing selective reading...
by Anonymous12 years ago
it still says a well regulated militia. dont turn it into a fisherman metaphor that is completely different.
and im done arguing with a gun crazed american
by Anonymous12 years ago
Thank you for resorting to insults. It helps to illuminate your lack of argumentation. Just because it says a well regulated militia, doesn't mean that's the only purpose.
by Anonymous12 years ago
the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, UNCONNECTED to service in a militia[1][2] and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.
by Anonymous12 years ago
well if youre going to copy from wiki you can at least source it
by Anonymous12 years ago
I hope you understand thats it means the states have the right to a well regulated militia, not only people in a militia can own a gun.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The second amendment really does state that congress should pass no law infringing on the right of people to keep and bear arms. It's fine if you disagree with the amendment, you can change constitutional amendments but don't say the 2nd amendment says something it doesn't.
by Anonymous12 years ago
inb4 massive argument about 2nd amendment. This isn't about the 2nd amendment, guys. It's about those people who don't know how awesome it feels to shoot a gun.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Same could be said about drugs.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Well if they're against guns, why would they want to go around shooting them? That's like saying people who are pro-life have probably never gotten an abortion.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That's completely different. Pro-life people believe the fetus is alive. Anti-gun people aren't worried that a cartridge is alive and don't want people blowing them up.
