I'd say American politics in general are screwed up, so yes, electing a different President might not change things much. I don't blame Obama or Americans who don't have much of a say in this intensely partisan political atmosphere.

The president doesn't have that much power over everything in general, but who the president is could either really help or harm the country, or at least keep it from getting more screwed up.
