+244 Living with a blind person can sometimes be uncomfortable. You can only say "I can't see!" or "oh, I didn't see that" so many times without it being abusive, amirite?

"I see what you mean."

They can't get mad at you for using a figure of speech. If they're a decent person, they won't hold you to it.

There is a blind kid in one of my classes and everytime the teacher asks "can everyone see?" Or something like that he'll yell "I can't!" And if the teacher says "do you guys want the lights off" he'll be like "they're already off." He has a great sense of humor about it.

Most people with conditions like that enjoy the opportunity to inject humor into a situation at their own expense. It often lightens the mood and allows us "normal" folk to be more at ease about the obvious difference and helps them relax too.
