Sometimes you pass up an opportunity to make a reference to something because you're worried that whoever you're talking to won't get it,amirite?

Sometimes I'm just like "You won't get this but, (Insert joke here). It's a _ reference."

I'm awesome at referencing the right things to the right people :D

It's awkward when you think somebody will get a reference and you say it and they're like ".....what......?" and youre like "ya know, it's a (blank) reference!!" and they're like "no, ive never seen/heard/done that"
