And when I say "I didn't say it's okay" she ALWAYS says "You just said it was!" So I've started saying I understand but that doesn't get me too far either....someone shoot me if I become this type o parent someday.

One time in high school, my teacher was singling me out in front of the class for whispering to a friend while she lectured so I just apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. She then said that this wasn't something that I can just "apologize" for and cast aside. I was a little annoyed so I sarcastically said that I understood her devastation, but can't do much more than apologize. She scoffed and rolled her eyes, told me to see her after class, and continued her lecture. Somehow I got in trouble for apologizing and accepting responsibility for my actions.
