+469 Even though the week starts on Sunday, you still think of Monday as being the first day of the week, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you were Christian you would say the first day of the week WAS Monday, because the Bible says God rested on the 7th day, which was a Sunday. I think...

Saturday...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Dude, how many people do you know who rests on a Saturday? God blessed the 7th day when he rested, which is why Christians rest on a Sunday.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I really hope you're joking.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hey I dunno, I don't even believe in God, that's just what I've been taught at school.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh okay! I assumed you believed in God. Saturday is the Sabbath though. Not Sunday.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Righto, thanks for correcting my (apparently very little) knowledge :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're welcome I guess. I thought it was a joke lol you're adorable!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha uhh thanks? Little patronising but okay.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't mean if like that. It's more of an "Aww that's adorable." I'm the Anne Frank of being gullible and saying things that others think are idiotic. Ya know?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha okay then. I was gonna say, I think I am older than you, so it would have been a little weird.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You kinda remind me of Emma Roberts.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha that's weird, twice now someone on Amirite has said that, but I've never heard it before. I'm gonna say thanks and assume it was a compliment :P

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No way! Haha that's awesome. She's pretty! It is a compliment. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well thank you :)

Not sure what source Sahara is using, but every Christian I know (and being a former Christian) recognizes Sunday as the Sabbath. This is why the majority of Christians go to church on Sunday, why they broadcast worship services on shitty TV and radio stations on Sunday mornings, why many devout Christians don't work on Sundays, and also why some counties below the Bible Belt don't sell alcoholic beverages on Sundays (although thankfully they're slowly getting rid of these laws). So even though the Bible may specify the Sabbath as Saturday, Christians commonly recognize it as being on Sunday.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I just said that Saturday is the Sabbath. Although we treat Sunday like it is, that doesn't make Saturday not the Sabbath.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

the week starts on Sunday? MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN A LIE!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Weekend = End of the week. Sunday is part of the weekend, thus it has to be in the end. The sabbath is, afaik, a jewish thing and is held on saturday, while christians rest on sunday because that is when "god" rested.

This isn't in religious terms. It's according to the calendar. Go look at one.
