+253 Girls: sometimes you want to find the first man to tell a woman her leg hair was gross, and punch him in the face. Amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Or perhaps it was a woman who thought it looked gross.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I honestly never found leg hair to be gross on a woman. Or anyone for that matter. I mean, it's just hair. I guess smooth legs are nice too, but to let your leg hair grow out isn't that big of a deal. It's pointless vanity.

Your wife will love you so much for that.

If I liked women, I suppose my theoretical wife would love me for that. I'm not going to say I believe hairy legs are more beautiful than smooth legs (on women, because I like the hair on my men to be thick and rough), but it's not too big of a deal. It's just another thing that gives us a hint to who's a male and who's a female, otherwise, if nobody did anything to themselves, we'd really only have to rely on clothes and facial hair. And even then, it'd be tough to figure out the difference (menopause and all, and the inability for some men to grow out facial hair, and the possibility of men who dress more feminine and women who dress more masculine, etc. etc. etc.).

oops sorry for the assumption... and I see what you're saying, but usually (although not always) girls have softer/rounder features so you can tell even without just clothes or hair.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That's true, but there are still women who don't have large breasts or wide hips, and can come off more masculine. I think it's wanted for people to shave their legs and cut their hair and wear certain clothes, but I honestly think a lot of the pressure is put on women more than men. I'm no feminist but I think it should be equalized, and I also think it shouldn't be such a pain in the ass (I shouldn't have to work out and gain muscle just to be recognized as a male, for example).

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I can completely agree with all of those points.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I can just imagine a man walking up to a person and touching their leg hair to see if its a man or a women.

@AdonisBatheus: Why do you say you're not a feminist? I mean, sure, everyone has a right to call it whatever they want, but I think a lot of people say stuff like "I'm not a feminist, I just believe in equality" not realising that it's the same thing. There are a lot of misconceptions about feminism that cause people to want to distance themselves from the feminist movement (feminists hate makeup and fashion, all feminists are lesbian, feminists are irrational and crazy etc.) but I think that if more feminists actually called themselves feminists people would see that the feminist movement is really about people wanting equality.

I hate the word feminism in the first place. It doesn't say "Equality!" it says "Women!" I know feminists come in all different sexualities and sizes and whatnot but I say I'm not a feminist because it's the same way of saying, "I'm not a brony, I just like MLPFiM." By definition I'm a brony, but admitting to the label brings up so many different things. The word "feminism" is tainted with so many negatives and stereotypes (that many feminists even fit into) that it's just as ridiculous as calling yourself a Belieber or Twihard...or, brony. I do believe in gender equality. But I don't believe that feminism has taken the right path to it.

As a guy, I think fine leg hair is perfectly okay, but not when you look like a monkey. I once had a classmate and his legs looked like a monkey's and I thought it was gross too. I still think it's more acceptable for a guy to have longer leg hair than a girl because the male hormone grows hair while the female hormone doesn't, or does so very little, thus long leg hair is biologically a masculine characteristic.

Pff never see my leg hair when I let it grow out for a month or two

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Uh, yeah. Female leg hair can get fairly thick too.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I know. I'm saying men (straight) are programmed to find feminine characteristic attractive. We ahve an ingrained knowlege of what a female human should look like and the closer a girl is to that, the more attractive she is. We know female bodies are not supposed to have as much hair as male bodies, and with science we know it's hormones. And we know men and women have different hormones that do different things. The 'ideal woman' would theoretically have a very low percentage of testosterone, which is the main substance responsible for hair growth. That's why men usually find women with as little hair as possible more attractive.

I hate shaving my legs. I'm pretty much allergic to it. I shave, it gets itchy, I scratch it, that hurts and ruins my skin.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Maybe try waxing or creams? My sister is also "allergic" to shaving.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Nothing really works, and I'm too young for waxing. The only thing that works I'd growing out my leg hair. My older sister and mom have the same problem and that's their solution.

I loved that show!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well, I don't think it should be socially required for a girl to shave her legs, but I personally like having smooth legs.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agree. People can do whatever they wish with their bodies, and having hair is natural. But I prefer to shave my legs, I think it looks nice.
