@125296 (Anonymous): You're both right. If you buy cookie dough from a store, since they don't use raw eggs is safe. The ones that are homemade on the other hand CAN (or have higher chances to) cause you to get salmonella.

I've never heard of a case where someone becomes ill by eating cookie dough. Factories regulate this stuff and your immune system kills germs. Death toll is probably < 15, a very small percentage when you compare it to the entire cookie dough eating population. All I really have to say is that media is good at keeping us all frightened.
