+126 The Beatles are a lot like the marauders from Harry Potter. John Lennon and Paul McCartney are Sirius Black and James Potter because they are the extroverts of the group who wreak havoc together (John a little more so), George Harrison is Remus Lupin because he's quieter and more introverted than the others but still joins them in their fun, and Ringo Starr is Peter Pettigrew because he's not as talented as the others and is lucky to be a part of their awesome group. amirite?

I think John and Paul could work as either Sirius or James. I thought John is more like Sirius because he's a bigger smart ass, which leaves Paul to James. but Paul could also work as Sirius because he's the cute one of the group, like Sirius (according to the books). you guys can decide for yourself on who fits who the best. also, I'm not hating on Ringo. I think he's lovely as a person (unlike Peter). But he lacks the talent the other Beatles have. he's probably the least like the marauder I paired him with.

OR! We could not try and combine two of the most overrated things of the last 5 years in attempt to get a grand amount of YYAs

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well that was pretty rude and unnecessary. I'm comparing them because I happen to love both and noticed the similarities. I just wanted to throw this realization out there, to see what others think. Isn't that the point of this site? To share ideas?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I always thought this was an opinion site. The last time i checked, sharing ideas didn't really count as opinions.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

it's both, I think. people share ideas and others give their opinions. but the main reason why I needed to disagree with you is because you thought this was an attempt to get a grand amount of YYAs. I actually expected this post to have a mix of YYAs and NWs because people are gonna have their own ideas on who would be who, or they just don't like the comparison in general.

I only said that because of the massive amount of users who are huge fans of both things mentioned. It was a lot ruder than i intended, i'll admit. But we have different opinions, so i'm going to stop replying now, and leave you alone.

alright, thank you.

5 years? The Beatles? ... really?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

YES! Well said :)

It's funny, because I've always related the Beatles to the Weasley twins for some strange reason.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

that's an interesting comparison. I'd say John and Paul are like the Weasley twins, if I were to choose two of the Beatles.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's what I was thinking- except for the fact that Paul did quite a bit of things for attention, often times John's, whereas John did things just to do them. I'm getting to into this, aren't I?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

nah, I've put a lot of deep thought in these comparisons as well. and yeah, I think Paul was more of an attention seeker than John. Probably to get women. :P

*too

To me it makes sense because the Weasley's are twins and back in the day the Beatles all looked the same.

I read a fanfiction where they argued over who was who.

It was part of a really, really huge, ginormous story. I don't even remember what chapter it was.

This post is so true :) exept for the Pettigrew part. Ringo is a talented drummer, whereas Pettigrew was a total ass and wasnt good at anything. Ringo created a whole new style of playing the drums and that's where his talent lies. OH YEAH, I never really understood why James, Sirius and Remus were friends with Pettigrew/ how Pettigrew became part of their group/ how Pettigrew never said anything about Remus's "furry little problem"...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Did you really just say Ringo Starr wasn't talented. Quite the contrary. He's fabulous.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

no, I said he wasn't as talented as the others.
