You know that theory that little people live on atoms? Did you ever wonder if maybe, just maybe right now we are on an atom? amirite?

The voters have decided that fuzzyredmonster is right! Vote on the post to say if you agree or disagree.

An atom is the smallest unit of an element that retains all the properties of that element. The earth isn't an atom, by the standard definition of an atom. What you mean to say is that the universe might be recursive and fractal, that is, it's possible that the macroverse resembles the microverse when viewed from "far enough away". But to what extent? is the question.

It's an interesting idea, but it's nothing new.

Just remember that we shouldn't over-extend the atomic model because it suggests areas of inquiry that might be misleading. When scientists looked for ether (a theoretical medium that propagates light the way air propagates sound), they never found it. Why? Because they overextended the model for sound propagation just like we tend to overextend the microscopic model into the macroscopic realm.
