No, but I came to that conclusion, because I first started with rock, then metal, went to jazz fusion bands, and eventually found my way to jazz, and I find it more challenging, than even mathcore bands like the dillinger escape plan and the number 12 looks like you

Good jazz tends to last longer than good rock. I.e people will still be listening to good jazz many years after it was recorded whereas they would have forgotten the good rock bands name. 'Great' music of all genres lasts a long time, but the just 'good' stuff doesn't with Rock or Pop. It's true about live jazz though, that barely anyone goes to jazz gigs anymore.
