+149 Crowded walking areas should follow this rule of the road: the fast pedestrians on the left and the slow fuckers on the right, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would only work of there were two speeds a person could walk at.

No, cars don't just have to speeds set. The people walking at a normal speed can go in the middle. Also, you can just pass someone if they can't keep up.

There is no such thing as normal speed, there is no walking speed limit, which means that people can move from barely at all to sprinting, someone might think they're walking fast because they're walking faster than they normally do and go in the fast lane, in front of someone who wants to punch them in the back of the head for walking so slowly. If there were overtaking lanes it would work, but a fast and slow lane is a stupid idea.

I'm not talking about lanes though. I'm just talking about walking on either side depending on your speed. Human bodies are different than cars, we can squeeze by and comunicate with eachother.

If it was as easy as you're making it sound then there wouldn't be an issue, people take up a lot of space.

Maybe it wouldn't be THAT easy, but it might help. I think people should just have comman curtacy and move to the right when they can't keep up with the rest of the pack but people don't always do that.
