-142 The Hunger Games has three books. 23 people die every year. There are 12 districts. The movie came out on 3-23-12. This is not a coincidence, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Don't you mean 13 districts?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well, twelve main districts known in the first book.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No, this is a coincidence.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

........Wait. I thought the big thing in the first one was that two people won.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And it's 2012 not 0012

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But when you write the date in the short hand version, you only write the last two digits.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I know. But just because the year ends with thy number doesn't make it significant. Certain dates only happen every hundred years but it would be truely amazing if it happened in year 12. All this proficy stuff is annoying. Like the mayan calendar 2012 thing. Their calendar was 10 months long and not gregorian. They didn't account for leap year either so it would have already happened. If people got their heads out of their asses and stopped worrying about little coincidences life would be much better for everyone.

yes but they killed the game maker so 23

by Anonymous 11 years ago

YOU'RE OVERTHINKING THIS.

LOL!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What a deep and insightful comment :')

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Lol I hate hunger games.....thats not deep so here you go

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Sarcasm. Have you heard of it or are you actually that stupid?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Dude of course I knew that was sarcasm. I was being sarcastic too. (even though I do hate the hunger games)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Then you suck at sarcasm. And I do too.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone came out 11-16-01. Harry was 11 in the movie, there were 16 chapters in the book*, and it's the 1st movie in the series. This is not a coincidence, amirite? *Actually there were 17, but I lied in order to sound more convincing

He was 16 his last year at Hogwarts (since he didn't go back when he was 17); it must be witchcraft.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That should've been a national treasure clue. "We found a stick at this national monument. Stick rhymes with lick. If I lick this wall, a secret passage will open."

IT IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO MAKE ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF. /facedesk

by Anonymous 11 years ago

23 people don't die either year. I guess the following contains spoilers if you haven't read the first 2 books. Another example of this besides the 74th Hunger Games where 2 lived meaning only 22 died is the 50th Hunger Games or Second Quartering Quell where 47 people died leaving one victor. So technically there has been more and there has been less.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Moar spoilers: Plus not everyone dies in the second one.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah they definitely waited until 2012 so that the year would match the number of districts. That's dedication.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

but they started the Hunger Games because District 13 rebelled so there are only 12 districts that have ever participated in the games and the author Suzanne Collins just wrote the first book around a year where there weren't 23 deaths but 22 to make it interesting...most of the time there are 23 deaths...just accept that this person is more clever than you...

l

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You have a point that only 12 districts have ever participated. However I disagree that the 2 winners was more interesting. It wouldve been just as interesting if katniss was forced to kill peeta.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

i suppose yeah...then she would have been with gale and then there wouldn't be any rebellion that happened and there would have been just one book.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The rebellion really started when she put the flowers on rue. Just because the spark //involved// peeta doesn't mean he was necessary.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

True but wasn't another part of it Peeta and Katniss planning to eat the Nightlock so the Capitol wouldn't have a victor? Aside formthat if that part wasn't in there she could have wrote in another spark in also so countered again. But yeah I do get what you're saying. The love story does bring in more readers though.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I agree. Love make //everything// better for some reason.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

yeah

This post has -132 votes... does this add to anything?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What do you mean?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The only numbers I see he said were either 1, 2 or 3... 132 votes... nothing?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Interesting enough, The Hunger Games came out on 3-23-12,as OP said, but did you know: 3 cats were not seen flying across the sky in the second book. 23 people may or may not been killed in the first and third book. It came out in 2012. THIS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE.
