I agree completely. One of the reasons i really liked this site was because memes were usually kept to a minimum, but I obviously don't find that happening much anymore. Its quite aggravating when you're trying to say something and someone will reply "cool story bro" or something of the sort.

Yeah, it doesn't contribute at all but I guess it is the natural evolution of the potd comments. I hated lolcatz before I started coming here but since favvkes I've devoted a special place in my heart to loathing them.
