Am I the only one who, before reading the words, thought this was going to be a post about cutting?

Anyone else see it? (=

Grats on the new xbox

Instead of going straight to home, you can hover your mouse over the option and click on written posts (so that only those are shown).

No problem. While this post didn't really bother me, I can see why others wouldn't like to see pictures of peoples' cuts.

Something similar happend to me. I have two cats, and one is really small and loves to be hugged and carried around and the other one is bigger and doesn't really like it. I had to give them a bath and thought the bigger one would be harder so I gave him a bath first and he just sat their quite happily and even kept putting his head under the faucet. So I was lulled into a false sense of security and gave the little one a bath. Holy fucking jesus her placid nature was replaced with some demon spawn from hell. She fought the bath like her life depended on it, the neighbours probably thought I was trying to drown her with the sounds she was making and I ended up with scratches all over including my face.

If you train them from a young age to not be absolutely terrified of baths, cats actually aren't too bad about them. Their fear also has a lot to do with your anxiety as well, and they can sense it.
Also, always bathe a cat with a partner. It minimizes scratches.

@DarthJader That sounds like a good idea

Speaking from experience, that's all. But most cats don't even need baths unless they have a flea/skin or other heath problem. They're naturally very clean animals.

I bathe my cat all the time, yo. If you hold it the right way it'll work fine. I YouTubed how to bathe a cat and found a good method.

Oh my gosh, I feel for you!!!

It looks like a smiley face. Clever cat.

I remember my cat didn't mind baths, SOMETIMES. For some reason she either would hate it or like it, it was very unpredictable. I thought she would like it the second time, so I just picked her up and she was laying on my chest (and so were her paws) and when she saw the bath water she practically STABBED me with her claws. There wasn't any scratches, she just dug her claws into my chest. The wounds were bleeding like crazy and I still have 3 dot-looking scars on my chest.

It doesn't matter if you get it's claws trimmed...and never giving it a bath would make for a very bad stench

If you're talking about declawing, that's actually a really horrible procedure to put cats through.

I think you missed the word "trimmed". It's like cutting your nails. You could also file them. It's not declawing.

Okay, just checking. I personally don't trim my cats' claws because they're outdoor cats, but I can see why it'd be a good idea.
Have you ever used claw caps? They work wonders as well.

But I've never given my cat a bath and she smells fine. Don't they clean themselves?

@Meagan But I've never given my cat a bath and she smells fine. Don't they clean themselves?

Usually, they're pretty clean animals. The majority of cats don't actually need to bathed unless there's some kind of extenuating circumstance, like illness or injury.

@Meagan But I've never given my cat a bath and she smells fine. Don't they clean themselves?

Aye, but I know we had to bathe my old cat when we first got him, because he was covered in fleas. There could be a circumstance like that.

How dare you tell me to get over it! Not everyone is as brave as you are. Try to have a bit of empathy for others

I think trigger warnings would be more helpful.
