It is not cheaper to give water to people than it is to fight terror, as evidenced by my own calculations in the comments, amirite?

1280000000000/43 is about 30 billion dollars. Since this is calculated by US spending, I assume that it will be shipped by boat to coastal nations, and by truck convoy to in-land nations. Approximately 4809KJ is released by burning the most efficient fuel, and we'll discount the weight of each tanker. If this provides 1 litre(1kg) to everyone, we need 7 billion kg of water to be moved 15000km (below the real figure) This requires 7billion kg x 15 million metres /1000= 105 trillion kilojoules of energy. We need at least 21 billion kg of heptane, then more fuel to transport this, but we'll discount that. Let's assume the price of heptane is 50 cents per litre and the density is half that of water. 21billion kg is 21 billion dollars. The money needed to purify 7 billion litres of water is lets say a dollar per litre, since we'll be purifying at a very high rate and probably need to build more purification plants. This comes to 28 billion dollars. Let's say it's 30 billion because we used minimum cost. this is true to provide one litre of water to each person which willl last maybe a day or two. Now let's say it's only people in Africa and India. That is definitely more than a third

of the population, but we'll say it's exactly two sevenths(less than a third), so water will last them a week, tops To let them drink throughout the war on Terror, would cost 1.5 trillion dollars per year. The war on terror is more than a year old, so it is actually cheaper than providing thirsty nations. Also, if or when the war on terror is over, we will live in a better world, but after a year, the people just go back to being thirsty again.

I have nothing against providing for the needy, but don't make people look like retards for not doing so.
