I really, really like that you added "unless they can't help it". I think people forget sometimes that there are people who have a very hard time gaining weight. Anyways, I just wanted to give you kudos on that. :)
As they say, extremely thin women model clothes intended for average size women and average size women model clothes intended for plus size women. The fashion industry baffles me.
Oh my god, I love Whitney so much! She's like one of my favorite models. That's partially because I don't know that many models, but still. I think she's amazing.
The whole "plus size" thing makes no sense. I read an article about a catwalk show once, where there was this big fuss about some designer using "plus size" models. They were a UK size 10. Then you get all the "plus size" clothing stores, all of whom seem to have a different definition of "plus size". Some start at a 12, some at 14, and some at 16 (which is in fact the national average dress size). It makes no sense!
In my opinion, the very term "plus size" makes it sound like you are too big for normal sizing, and only serves to make women feel bad about their bodies, when there is in fact nothing wrong with them. The only time women should have to worry about their size is if it starts posing a risk to their health, I reckon.
I don't think size 8 would be considered plus size but I could be wrong. According to a couple sites off of google she's 12-14. Also, you have to take into account the amount of photoshop in this photo.
Plus size means being anywhere from a size 6-14, it doesn't really refer to being curvy. Tyra Banks was very curvy, but she still qualified as a "regular" model.
I hate how magazines uses "curvy" instead of "diva sized". I'm petite. I'm short, I'm not fat, but I DO have a butt, hips, and boobs. Just because I'm short, doesn't mean I'm a stick. These days, it seems like there's no in between.
See, I'm extremely underweight and I always have been. It annoys me when people say that skinny is gross or that bigger is better. If every body is beautiful, then so is skinny.
People take size too seriously! Obesity is a problem, but they are looking at looks like they're gold. It's sad to think that's how the world works nowadays.
When I was younger I looked into plus size modeling and at the time was about a size 14 (wich is the smallest woman's size that exists) in fact I was to small to shop in any of the plus size stores and find anything that fit. The Agent said he was definately interested in me but he said most plus size models were a size 10 or 12 so I might need to trim down a bit. I was shocked. I figured if anything I might be to small since I couldn't actually wear the clothes. He said, "No they just pin the clothes in back so they look like they fit." I was done there. I had no desire to set people up for that unattainable look. How unbelievable. You expect a traditional model to be rediculous thin but for a plus size model to be "rediculously thin". It completely ruined it for me. I wanted for girls and women to see that although we shouldn't settle for obesity we can look great at sizes larger than 2.
When did I say it had anything to do with looks? If she's going out of her way to be cruel and call her fat, then she is an ugly person. I don't care how pretty your face is, you can't recover from that ugliness. But thanks for telling me not to judge people when you're doing the same :)
Also, I don't think her skin colour goes well with her hair colour, and her boobs look kinda fake. Those are my main reasons for not thinking that she's that pretty.
I was about to say f*** you and I'm not even that type of a dude to say stupid stuff on the internet. If you couldn't see why that woman isn't beautiful to everyone, then you must be blind. You're not gay if you don't like every plastic hoe out there
But it seems like you are fair, so that's fair enough.
This is how more models should look. No one should strive to be all skin and bones unless they can't help it

:) My mom was really skinny and people used to try to get her to gain weight, but it was hard because of her body type. So I totally get it haha
I'm pretty skinny, I eat like crazy. Damn metabolism...
shes so hot
BUT HOW IN THE WORLD IS SHE A PLUS SIZE MODEL
i bet shes a plus size compared to all the other models out there
As they say, extremely thin women model clothes intended for average size women and average size women model clothes intended for plus size women. The fashion industry baffles me.
She was bigger than this on ANTM
Here's the full pic:
It's just stupid

Same(: I love Whitney! But, I'm not loving all these negative comments about her ):

Apparently she's a dress size 12-14. I feel like that would constitute as being 'plus size'.
That does not look like a size 12/14. I saw an interview of her where she said she was a size 8.

Agreed, but I saw her interview. She was a size eight. Even a six is considered plus size.
she should be considered normal size and the "normal" models should be considered small size imo
She is curvy though. Plus size doesn't mean fat, it means curvy. Which she is.

What is diva-sized even?
Plus-sized. I like "diva-sized" better. If I ever become plus-sized, I'm calling myself "diva-sized."
See, I'm extremely underweight and I always have been. It annoys me when people say that skinny is gross or that bigger is better. If every body is beautiful, then so is skinny.
she's more beautiful than all the skin and bones models out there. THIS is what a model should look like.
I think it's the shoulders. She's in no way fat, or close to being fat. She has broad shoulders, which put people up in dress sizes.
Holy shit

That's crazy!
Who couldn't be hot with a face like Megan Fox?
im sorry, why is this a big deal? She obviously isn't fat so... who gives a shit?
Oh it's not a big deal. That's the point though, she's perfectly fine (weight-wise) but that's what they consider plus-size nowadays. It's stupid.
Wow, she's really fat.
Did that make you feel better about how ugly you are?
Good job making fun of someone over the internet. You are really setting a good example.
When did I say it had anything to do with looks? If she's going out of her way to be cruel and call her fat, then she is an ugly person. I don't care how pretty your face is, you can't recover from that ugliness. But thanks for telling me not to judge people when you're doing the same :)
Chunky bitch
Aww looks like it's time for you to get over yourself. What a sad life you must live.
Trying to offend someone over the Internet Is like calling yourself a fuck face retard. It makes you look like a fuck face retard
She's not a plus size, but she's not too attractive either.
Lol want to know how I know you're gay?
I think half of the girls on this site are more attractive than her. Just saying.
I wish I looked like her.
I'm pretty sure her butt is prettier than my face
That's fine.
You're weird.
Because my idea of beauty differs from yours?
No, because it differs from most people.
False. Being a model does not mean most people think you're beautiful. It means the company that hired you thinks you're beautiful.
Oh I'm not talking about her being a model, I'm talking about how fucking beautiful she is. I bet you most of the site thinks she's attractive.
Forgive me, maybe she is beautiful. But the face she's making in this picture and the pose that she's in prevents me from seeing it.
That's fair.
Also, I don't think her skin colour goes well with her hair colour, and her boobs look kinda fake. Those are my main reasons for not thinking that she's that pretty.
*NACKLEFOODLE

Hey hey hey, calm your tits, bro.
That girl is completely different from this one. This one actually looks like a human.
You're saying her face doesn't look a little fake to you? You can't trust your eyes my man
