Moral question of the day: You are standing next to a switch thats switchs the direction of a train heading towards five people strapped to the track ,if you move the switch it will change tracks and kill one person strapped to a different track, do you move the switch or let the train go? Your in quite a dilemma, amirite?
Leave the train then kill the other person that way you dont have to pick who lives
I'd let it kill the one person. Choosing 5 people over 1 person isn't really that much of a dilemma.
The moral dilemma is with the 5 people dying, you didn't do anything. You didn't help, sure, but you didn't actively do something to lead to their deaths. Whereas if you flipped the switch, you've actively done something to kill them. So yeah, I would say there is a dilemma between being just an passive onlooker to multiple deaths, and being an active contributor to one death.
I bet if I pushed the switch to kill the one person instead of the five that they would have been the person that cured cancer or something.
I say kill everybody! it's fun! lmfao
