+202 It seems that the younger generation is more open and lenient with a lot of things, for example gay marriage. But the generation before us was probably more open than the one before them, and so on. It's strange to imagine how the world will change with our children and those who will follow, amirite?

It's because religion is fading away. Gay marriage is only an issue because of Christians.

I'm fairly sure there's other religions against homosexuality

Not really, it's a cycle... people move in and out of. We're not more open minded than the previous generation, we have just transferred the conservative stuff to liberal issues and vice versa. We could be, but our open mindedness isn't going to go up exponentially is what I'm trying to say. It's like a sine function, it'll go up and down over a certain period of time. And really it's not our open mindedness that is changing in my opinion. It's what we label as, "conservative" or "liberal"

Does anyone know what our parents accomplished? Our grandparents worked on racial and womens rights, our generation is working on gay rights...But what did our parents do?
