I used to pronounce meme like meme, but now I pronounce it meme.
I'm not sure how to explain it. More like "meem", I guess? It rhymes with "beam".
I'm really surprised I've been pronouncing it correctly!
I have a friend that pronounces it "mem" (like "member") and another that pronounces it "mi-mi". I corrected the second one because I was closer to her but I didn't have the heart to correct the first and it's close enough.
How is it pronounced?
That makes sense, her step-dad is French.
Well, it does come from the French word, which IS pronounced "mem" so I can see how your friend would think that.
I had been pronouncing the word 'epitome' wrong for six years. I was so embarrassed when I found out.

I said "albeit" as ul-beet instead of all-bee-it until about seven months ago.
Apparently, I had been saying 'albeit' wrong too. I thought it was said like 'al-bite.'
I thought it was "all bate" for the longest time. I feel your pain.
I guess I was saying it wrong too. Thought it was al-bay. Not sure why I assumed the t was silent.
Wow, reading these comments, I've realized that I probably pronounce 90% of things wrong...

MAAAlignant
I was a weird 10 year old.
I was talking about tumours in my science class and how not all of them were MAAlignant. my teacher corrected me in front of a class of 50 some kids.

So bad at pronunciation. Plethora, permanent, geronimo, renege, accompaniment, solider, iron, and pastor, among other words...
How did you say them?
Ple-THOR-a, for geronimo and permanent I switch around the m's and n's when I say them (I still haven't corrected those), re-nedge like it rhymes with hedge, a- come-PAN-i-ment, solider like shoulder, i-ren, and pasture.
Isn't it like "ah-sigh-ee"? I just say "uh-kye" even though it's wrong. I'm no berry expert!
Thesis. Still gets me to this day..curse you English high school essays!
I used to say breakfast like bref-crist until probably sixth grade haha.
i've always pronounced permanent as pernament...
