if i feel like crap and they ask how i feel i say terrible but then ask how they are and dont go into detail cause thats just weird

THEY DO THOUGH. ALL THE TIME. OMFG STORY TIME. So I was checking this one guy out and I ask him how he's doing and he asks if I want the polite answer or the real answer. I mean, if someone asks that you're pretty much obligated to ask for the real answer, so I do. And he says "I'm feeling rather homicidal today." How the fuck do you even respond to that?! So I say, "I'm sorry to hear that, it doesn't sound pleasant at all." And he says, "That depends entirely on your perspective," takes his food, and leaves. NEVER ASK FOR THE REAL ANSWER.
