It is blue.
It's actually not.
Yes it is, most people think that it just reflects the sky but it doesn't. All water is partially blue, even the water you get out of your tap. It's just that the amount of the water that is blue is very small so you normally can't see it. But if you have it in a very large quantity, like the ocean, it easy to see.
that has only a little to do with it. water does have blue property but overall it is extremely reflective which is what causes the blueness. if you know otherwise, I'd like to see it. not Wikipedia though.
I learned this from my biology class my sophomore year in college. my professor was quite knowledgable so I'll be surprised if she is wrong.
