If lord is synonymous with god, you wonder why king is above a lord, amirite?

There is a difference between The Lord and a lord.

God is "Our Lord" or "The Lord", which implies superiority over the human race. "King" probably wasn't used because "king" had a negative connotation after the Revolutionary Era in Europe and America.
