The way some people use it, the question 'Can't you do anything just for me?' is kind of assholish if you think about it. "I want you to do something for me. BUT you cannot benefit from it in any way, directly or indirectly, and if I find out your life is in any way better, including because I'm happy, then you actually did that wonderful act for you, and not me.", amirite?
