+150 It's rather rude when someone begins crying because they're getting old on their birthday while their spouse is a good 10 years older. amirite?

It's a little weird for their spouse to be 10 years older...

It depends on when you meet, really. I don't think it's that weird if you both out of college and had a career (even if one was just starting) because you're pretty much at the same place by then.

My parents are 14 years apart. My dad's 59. I know, he's old.

My older brother's 31. You?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My sister's 32! Awwww yea! cool but your parents are older than mine.

My parents are 10 years apart and my dad's 65 cool

my dad is 73, my mom is 62. im 16. i got you ALL beat ahahha

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's not like you can control when you cry.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

They could probably hold it back long enough to excuse themselves though. They could go to the bathroom and cry it out themselves.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Also I really hate the idea that you're not allowed to complain or be sad just because some people are worse off than you.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, but there's a way to be tactful about it. My mom started sobbing and saying I'M SO OLD right in front of my dad who is 14 years older.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

So? Maybe he's not bothered by it. There's nothing wrong with being old, and if you agree with that then you shouldn't get upset when someone younger than you is upset about getting older. Everyone handles age differently. Personally I can't wait to be old.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

He was most definitely bothered about it. I'm upset about it because it hurts my dad's feelings.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If you hurt someone's feelings you should apologize but I don't necessarily think it's rude.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well that's your opinion. And as you weren't there I think you wouldn't really understand.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It is my opinion and I wouldn't ask anyone to agree with me unless it's actually what they think. I don't think my opinion would change very drastically if I was there, but if it was my family I might have a very different opinion.

Alright

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You cant //always// control ehen you cry.I think it's fair that she's a little upset about her age, and who knows, it might be a little deeper than just getting older. But still, Jodie was right. She could have been more tactful. Also, people react differently to aging. Take your dad for instance. If that really bothered him, he must feel the same as she does, but never said anything or showed it.
