+70 The way you say things can drastically change the implied meaning. For example, if you were talking about knowing a celebrity, "I know her" is a lot different than "she knows me," amirite?

The way you say something doesn't (or shouldn't) change the implied meaning. "This chair is comfy." and "This chair is awesome!" can have the same implication, that you like the chair. The examples you used are completely different from each other.

They're not completely different because they both discuss the relationship you have with the celebrity. They're getting the same meaning across: that you have had some sort of previous interaction, but the way that it's phrased places emphasis on a different part of the sentence.
