Removing a post because "it's not phrased as a yes or no question" - erm...isn't "amirite" the yes/no question part? People are perfectly capable of discerning the statement from whatever you write. But doesn't including "amirite" automatically make it so ALL the posts are yes/no questions? There are only 2 buttons to choose from after all! amirite?

ono smilie No. If someone posted "Poop, amirite" (which they have lol) JUST BECAUSE IT HAS AMIRITE AT THE END DOES NOT MAKE THAT A QUESTION.

That's beside the point though. Just because it made sense doesn't make it good. You have to follow the rules like everyone else.

That doesn't put it into a 'yes or no' format, it puts it into a 'where do they find it', open ended format. I really don't think it's such a harsh rule or too much to ask since that format is kinda the whole gimmick for this site after all. I think maybe you're blowing it out of the water a bit. I've had posts removed for the same thing and it was really a big deal, i'd rewrite a different way or something.

You're asking people where they get it. Then you go on to ask if you're right. You didn't give yourself anything to be right about because you didn't give an opinion, you sort of just asked for arbitrary answers.
On a side note, I do agree with you on the idea of the post in question, but I still see no reason to be so frustrated. :/

Or if someone says something that already is a question you can't answer yes or no to.
"Where is the train station, amirite" ono smilie That doesn't work either ono smilie
I can't facepalm enough at "automatically make it so ALL the posts are yes/no questions?"

I see your point, but my post was fairly substantial, but the last part was a rhetorical question. It shouldn't have been erased on these grounds. The statement it was making was abundantly clear. And my post here states that one is making a statement, as opposed to just saying something like "poop".

I'm not frustrated, as I say I reposted it and it's still there. It's not like these are automatically removed, someone read it and made the decision to remove, which is weird since the point it makes is abundantly clear. Where do they get the windows system is absolutely rhetorical. Rhetorical questions have no answer, so what you're addressing is the point preceding it, don't you see?

The rules don't have to be quite SO unyielding. You know, since it was removed, I reposted it and now it it's still there. Still think it should have been removed the first time? It's 2-3 lines giving the point followed by a tiny "where do they find it?" - that's the part it was removed for.

It's just irritating. Nobody's making a big deal - if I were doing that I'd be posting threads on the forums and campaigning in the chatroom. The point is, the question went hand in hand with the point. Here it is, see for yourself:
In TV/movies, you never see people using computer mice, they just type on the keyboard and stuff happens. And they are all using this super fast non-crashing version of windows! Where do they get it? Amirite?
You see? The point is abundantly clear, and the question clerly rhetorical. And adding "amirite" retains the yes/no thing. As someone above mentioned, if the post was:
Poop, amirite?
Then sure!

When you think about it though, if a clear statement is being made, there's really no grounds for removing it. The post I'm referring to made a clear and unambiguous statement without "Ithink" in it, but added a short rhetorical question for effect, and it was removed on those grounds.

Okay, so I do see where you're coming from but still don't agree. I'm really tired at the moment, so I'm gonna call it a night (err, early morning?) and go to bed. My best wishes to you. Good night.
