+202 You don't know why there's going to be a "kiss in" at Chick-Fil-A where gay couples go in and kiss since the people that actually work at the individual stores probably don't all have the same opinions as the CEO so it won't be so offensive to them, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Probably because most of the people who continue to eat there have most likely heard about the issue and either agree with the CEO or don't care. Neither would be ideal for gay rights activists.

This whole situation is stupid. Why is a company getting bashed for stating their opinion? As far as I see it they are the one who is being oppressed by everyone.

If chick-fil-a can state their opinion, then people can criticize it as much as they want. Freedom of speech goes both ways. Just because some people are bashing and criticizing the restaurant does not mean chick-fil-a is being oppressed.

Besides, it hasn't just stated its opinion; it's donated money to antigay groups, so if you eat there, you are indirectly contributing.

It just bugs me that homosexuals claim to be oppressed by this company.. All they did was state their opinion. Many companys support things that you don't know about. Disney land supports homosexuals, but if I had the chance to go there I would still go.

@pug Chick-fil-a did more than state their opinion. They donated nearly 2 million dollars to anti-gay groups. I can't speak for all people, but personally I don't care about the CEO's opinion, but I don't want to eat there because they might donate the money that I spend to anti-gay causes, and I don't stand for homophobia.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The thing is, they didn't JUST state their opinion. See Laguakat's comment.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

again, many companies can be donating to places you don't support, and you don't even know it. i'm not saying by not eating there you are oppressing them.. the people who bash the CEO for supporting something are the oppressors.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How are they oppressing him? They are stating an opinion, just like he is.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Anyone who bashes homosexuals is called an oppressor

Examples?

A "kiss in"? Really? Are these people really trying to emulate the sit-ins of the Civil Rights Movement? The difference here is that sit ins were respectful, quiet protest and actually had a point. "Kiss ins" are obnoxious and won't change a single thing.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm pretty sure all that is going to be is dumb and annoying.

One of my friends worked at Chick-Fil-A. She said one of her co-workers was openly gay. So would a kiss in bother him one bit? No. Besides, anybody who is anti-gay probably already ate there on Wednesday and will not eat there today just because they don't want to see gay/lesbian couples kiss. The people that don't care will eat there. It's a no win situation for them.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

This is completely silly. I'm gay, and the CEO is entitled to his own opinions as well. I know he supports anti-gay activists, but that doesn't mean I should go and flaunt myself in a most likely family-owned restaurant. I really have a problem with people who think that they need to base their entire personality around how much they enjoy penis.

I work at Chickfila and had to work on Wednesday. I'm pro gay marriage and the surge of bible thumping rednecks made me sick. I also have to work tonight and will have to hide my support for the protesters. Employees have to remain neutral.

I support Gay marriage and gay rights, but i don't like going into any eating establishment and seeing people kissing, straight or gay.
