Most of the political controversies in America are caused by moral absolutists who've been brainwashed into believing that it's impossible for the human agency to be free, rational, and moral at the same time. The gross result are slippery-slope talking points. Two examples: The argument against regulation of gun rights ends with a people who can't defend themselves against regulators, and the argument for regulation of marriage ends with people marrying animals, amirite?
