@patrickedwards58118 the reason mexico has so many deaths is because the US trades guns, which they can legally buy, or drugs. They supply the dealers wih weaponry that the police force doesn't even have so the army had to be brought in to try and clean up the mess your country made, so don't blame that on the ban on guns.
Canada is an example of a country where guns are banned and there are very few murders. Yes there are shooting and odd cases, like everywhere else, but the murder rate is low.

Yeah exactly, whether or not it's legal to have a gun things like that are going to happen. Murder is illegal, and people still do it obviously. It's kind of like trying to protect people from themselves - heroin is illegal, but people still do it. So if guns are banned, shootings are still going to happen no matter what.
Because everyone who legally has a gun goes out and kills people. But only in America.
I think it should be much more difficult to obtain a firearm (especially the high powered ones) but I'm sure that would do little to deter the people that really wanted to be destructive and kill. People that want to cause harm will find a way to do so, guns or no guns.
In the more liberal parts of the country, such as New York, it can take years of legal battles and thousands of dollars to register a weapon. I personally think that's a little too hard to get
I'm sure there's a happy medium there somewhere, though whether it will ever become law is certainly a different story.

Those who want to kill will find away, a ban on guns will do nothing but disarm the citizen that choses to use their gun responsiblely. I personally would prefer to have the ability to protect myself should I ever need protection.
