Absolutely not! That would completely destroy my plans to move to Canada.

Expect some jokes about that fact, in my experience from living in 3 different Canadian cities, we really like to make fun of Americans.

As long as you're not a close-minded bigot, I wouldn't mind adding another to our 34 million. What country do you plan to emigrate from?

Wouldn't it be the Northern America's? At least around here, when you say "The America's," it is in reference to the North and South American continents.

Yea, we do call the US "America" but when referring to "The Americas," it was always in the context of north and south. Like the teacher would say, "Asia, Africa, Antarctica, Australia, Europe, and the Americas." I never heard about the convergence of the two countries, but it would be really interesting. If you find that article, please post it.

One of my teachers for a class gave me an article that gave information as to what would happen to political parties and such. Anyway, it was predicted that in 10 years, this will happen and the country will be called "The Americas." I don't go to that school anymore but I will see if I can find the article again [it was a paper copy so it may take a while.] Also, a lot of people already refer to the United States as America even though that is nonsensical. I'm not sure if the article included Mexico, but I am looking into it. However, there are many other pages talking about this idea.

I know what you're saying and I do know that it would be wrong to say Canada-US are the Americas. These aren't my words. Also, so far I'm finding it hard to get this article because it was from a textbook-like book which means it's probably not posted online. However, I will try to find other trusted sources that say the same things.

President of the Americas sounds more powerful than the President of the United States of America.
