who says I'm being critical? I really think people need to learn to ask and be sure, before they decide that I'm being a smart ass or being critical - as you can see I did agree wth the post. I was just pointing out an interesting factoid.
Actually, that's not entirely true either. There's no real convention for it. The thing you're referring to (at least in the north) is saying "blah blah's wife" rather than "mrs.." - when you translate it more accurately. Point is, women do not change their last names when they marry.
Thats like in most Arab countries they keep their last name as well
In a way, they do. They keep their maiden names in their full name but are referred to as Mrs. (Husband's last name) when formally talking.
