First of all, I don't think people can change what they feel good about. That takes time. And commitment. And therapy.
Second, I think it's kind of hard to pretend euphoria; that a synapse is flooded with neurotransmitters that simply aren't there.
And third: Sure, people sell themselves to the authority of dopamine, i.a., all the time, and it might look like brainwashing from the POV of an unaffected audience. But I don't think you should flame people for how they feel when bombarded with a particular arrangement of noise, or demand that they pretend otherwise to conform to your sensibilities or lack thereof.
