It is kind of sad that there are some people known almost exclusively for their deaths, as opposed to their lives/accomplishments. People like: Elvis, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jesus himself, amirite?
Most times I hear people talk about Kurt Cobain, they talk about how he brought good music into their lives. They talk about how Nirvana changed the music scene after hair bands.
Ok, take the Catholic church,, they have Jesus on the cross everywhere. They have prayers to each wound he suffered.
When people talk about Kurt, it's not often to talk about his life. It's more about his suicide and the 27 club.
I'm not saying their accomplishments are unknown, I'm simply saying that their deaths overshadow them. People focus more on the end.
