This applies to other things too, like food. I refused to eat tofu in China for ages, now it's among my favourite things to order. But as for the original post, I'd say, for TV shows, "Peep Show" (UK), and "Smallville". For movies, hmmm I guess Goodfellas was probably the best example - I was adamant that I hated gangster movies. Goodfellas was just SO awesome... and for games...probably a shoot-em like Counterstrike or something. I claimed CS fans were totally lame, then I got hooked in China. I never told ANYONE back home until about 2 years later, hahaha

I refused to watch Sherlock (the BBC show) because I just assumed it sucked compared to the movies. But then I did and I wanted to punch myself for being such an asshole :|
