Out of all the things I've ever thrown up, apple juice was pleasant in the sense that it was the least disgusting.

I'd rather be shot than throw up. But that's just my phobia talking.

Throwing up, seeing others throw up, being thrown up on, etc. There are some specific things that make me hate it and afraid of it, but phobias are, by definition, irrational fears. When it comes to other people vomiting, I just can't stand the smell or sound, and it reminds me of the taste and feeling of hopelessness. The hopelessness is a big part of it. You lose a lot of control when you throw up; once your body starts the necessary spasms, there is absolutely nothing you can do. If you have to go to the bathroom, that's all being released regardless of whether or not you're sitting on the toilet. Those thoughts horrify me, but they're reasonable. On the more unreasonable side are the thoughts of plague and death that inhabit my mind when I start to feel nauseous. Thoughts of perhaps being confined to the bathroom and clutching the toilet haunt me. My mind starts thinking that maybe I've contracted some horrible disease and will simply continue throwing up until I die of dehydration. Essentially, it doesn't affect me much unless I feel extremely sick, and I mean EXTREMELY sick; or unless someone mentions that they don't feel well. I also avoid places with alcohol or opiates.

Fortunately, the phobia makes me extraordinarily resistant to throwing up. There have been a number of times I can recall that I was so close to throwing up, that the only reason I didn't was through sheer will power and fear. Since I was a small child, the only time I actually have thrown up was when I got the worst case of food poisoning that I have ever heard of. It all culminated in me throwing up once. I've even taken things that are known to cause violent vomiting and managed to hold it down.

What fears might you have? Other than vomiting, my only fear is vast, open water. Other than that, I'm not afraid of anything. I just reasonably respect stuff's ability to harm me.

UGH Open water is just terrifying. It's to the point that this scene actually makes me very uncomfortable and sends chills down my spine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lk3ZxmptZy8 Of course I'm interested goo Quirks and such about people interest me.

To your # 12, you are a hypochondriac

@Mike_Hawk I have the same exact phobia and people always think it's a ridiculous that I fear throwing up. Whenever the doctor has to do a throat swab thingy it makes me gag and I keep squirming away from them and they just look at me like I'm crazy. Once I even grabbed the nurse's arm to keep the swab from going in my throat because I feared throwing up that much.

I've thrown up 8 times in one day before. Wasn't my best day.

11. All thanks to Taco Bell

Eh, I don't think so. It's not the act of throwing up that's so bad, it's the //feeling// of having to throw up. That's one of the worst feelings. You try curling up into every position but it never makes it any more tolerable.
