yeah, and has michelle obama struggled? I can understand how hard it is to pick clothing in the morning," should I wear the 1,320 dollar one or the 3,450 dollar one. oh, what the heck! Why not wear the 6,000 dollar outfit with the 9,000 dollar jacket? Its all on the taxpayers backs anyway."
oh yeah, and raising 5 kids is not "hard work"... seems like the democrats are having a war on women.
I think the OP is talking about struggle as in the hardship people of a lower class (though idk if class is the right word) deal with.
If you're arguing the point of raising kids, yes she raised kids, but she also had a lot of money to do it. Does she understand the struggle of raising kids the same way as a parent that barely has enough money to make ends meat and lives paycheck to paycheck while trying to give their kids everything they need? Probably not.
People with money don't struggle the same as people without. Yes the Romney's still have their problems and minor hardships (everyone has their problems) but it's not the same as a working class person that barley has enough money to scrape by week to week.
Her children are all over 30. your mom has to work significantly harder than Ann because Ann doesn't have to support children anymore. If any of those boys live with their parents it's a luxury. The amount of money Mitt makes in one day could probably fund an entire high school sport for a season.
Being the wife of a famous politician would be stressful but EVERYBODY has stress in their life. Of course she's had some kind of struggle. The biggest struggles of her life have passed. She survived multiple diseases and raised children. She's damn near retirement(not that she needs to retire from anything). The only thing she has to worry about right now is moving if Mitt becomes president, and with the VP he just chose his chances went down significantly.
Idk there's no way I can really argue my point without sounding like a huge asshole and inconsiderate of her life. I'm sure she's a fine woman and I mean no offense to her. I just think her life is probably a bit easier than most of ours.
I actually found it fascinating that they really have no maid, and live pretty much like upper middle class Americans. They're kind of like you and me. It really hurts to see the democrats smear him and his wife as uber rich people living in a huge mansion. To me they seem like wealthy older people who bought their dream house, and i could honestly see them being my grandparents.
I do understand your point, I just want people to realize he's not as disconnected as you think
Actually... My neighbor has several horses and around 50 acres of land. He owned a concrete making company and retired a wealthy man. In the surrounding area he employed many people and is celebrated as a result. Why can't all richy people be celebrated this way, instead of hated and despised. Anyway, he would be considered upperclass in "money" terms, but he isn't in "people" terms. THAT is the point I'm trying to get acrossed. Mitt Romney may be "rich" in the money sense of the word, which allows his wife to pursue her interest, but he is not a stuffy rich man at heart like CNN or NBC would make him out to be.
He was a pastor
He gave terminally ill children happiness
And most off all, he gave 5 children a wholesome childhood.
Sorry for going on such a rant, but I wanted my point to be understood.
She doesn't have a job and she stays at home. The most struggle she might have is POSSIBLY getting beaten by Mitt in a fit of rage from being stressed about the campaign.
AND YES, I understand that getting beaten is bad but i'm just saying it's only a possibility and not a fact.
oh dear god no one understands that I was saying the STUPID people would be saying that you can only have cancer once why does no one understand that...?
Everyone has struggles, but there are different levels of struggling. While she has certainly had some immensly tough times, it's much different for a woman who is unemployed or working on minimum wage to be a mother of five with illnesses. That being said, I really dislike the idea that you can't have complaints or that your struggles are invalid because others are worse off than you. I just agreed because I thought it was funny.
You people? If you scroll down a bit on the homepage you will see a post where I openly insult liberals. But please excuse me for thinking a mother of 5 with millions of dollars has it a bit easier than a mother of two working two jobs. And why are you bringing stuff up that has absolutely nothing to do with the post? Me saying that Ann Romney has it easier than she thinks in no way insinuates that I support the liberal party, conservative party, or any other party for that matter. This post was directed at one person and mentioned absolutely nothing of her or her husbands political beliefs. While I admire your passion for your beliefs there is no reason to come out swinging at the slightest mention of something that does not put your party in the perfect light.
Honestly I like the way you reacted. It shows you give a fuck. Even if it's about something I'm not for at least you care about something. I'm tired of these dip shit teenagers witnessing one half of a political debate and then intently deciding on a political affiliation without question. I just replied to your comment because 1. I haven't seen you on the site in a while. 2. You made it personal. 3. It was worth replying to. It had heart behind it.
Just kidding. Used at the end of a sentence to make it completely void, therefore contributing nothing to the conversation and wasting everyone's time.
ok, for those that did not understand. If a republican had said something as innoculious as this post, then the democrats would have accused him/ her of a war on women, war on blacks, war on the poor, gaybashing, homophobe, war on ETC... Not only would they accuse this person of all of those things, but they would accuse the whole republican party of these things
and before a debate starts, I want you to realize this post was HUMORISTIC. It was a cause for a laugh at the least and a playful jab at the worst, but I know you guys get hurt really easily, so I'm sorry. jk
wtf you asked if this post was suggesting if women are stupid when you clearly plucked the statement out of thin air seeing this post has literally nothing to do with women at all
And you obviously don't know the meaning of the word struggle. Financial struggles are one subcatergory. What about emotional, romantic, parental, mental, physical, spiritual, etc struggles? Not to mention this bullcrap she has to put up with about her being out of touch with reality because she's rich. I'd say going out in public when there are ignorant jackasses like you out there would be a pretty big struggle. What about standing by her husband with all the bad press he gets? I'd say that's a struggle as well. And if raising a bunch of kids isn't a struggle then I don't know what is. And what about faith? I bet if you knew anything about how Mormons live their lives you'd reconsider your own life's problems, take it from one. But I guess the fact that she has money coming out her butt just voids all her life's problems
You don't know that.
Assumptions suck.
Just because she's wealthy doesn't mean she has never struggled in other ways. Everyone has problems in life.
No way someone running for office would beat their wife... if that got out, he would be screwed.

Didnt she have a horse in equestrian in the Olympics? That definitely requires a lot of money.
I thought that's what patrickedwards was saying? The average upper middle class American does not own horses.
You'd be surprised how easily someone can snap under a huge amount of pressure.
She doesn't have a job and she stays at home. The most struggle she might have is POSSIBLY getting beaten by Mitt in a fit of rage from being stressed about the campaign.

lol lots of downvotes on this one i see.
Nobody knows the trouble I've seen~
At the gay bar, gay bar, gay bar
Nobody knows my sorrow...
Curse you.
didn't she have cancer like multiple times...? as far as i know that can teach a person quite a bit about struggling
I believe she had a miscarriage too which can mess someone up.
oh dear god no one understands that I was saying the STUPID people would be saying that you can only have cancer once
why does no one understand that...?
inb4 someone comments "Um, you can only have cancer once you dumbass"
Ann Romney is a mother of five, suffers multiple sclerosis, a cancer survivor, and married to a politician. Do I need to further elaborate?

I really messed up innoculuos, and probably did then too
Innocuous. Your post made zero sense. If you find that funny, that's ok.
Where did you get "women are stupid" from this post..?
wtf you asked if this post was suggesting if women are stupid when you clearly plucked the statement out of thin air seeing this post has literally nothing to do with women at all
Thank you, I have to practice: innocuous, innocuous, innocuous...
A lot of things don't make sense, like Shakespeare.
that was a definition, if anyone was wondering... :p
i love you too
