It's kind of sad how much people seem to despise attention seekers, some of them are just obnoxious assholes who really don't require it but sometimes there are people screaming out for help, maybe they really aren't suicidal, this, that, or the other thing, but they really do need a friend and there's generally not a reason it can't be you. We should be a more warm and loving society, amirite?

The best way to lash out at an attention whore is to not give them attention. By acknowledging the fact that they're just looking for attention means you give them what they want.
What's wrong with giving someone what they want?
If it's a negative quality and you're indulging it, they aren't going to stop.
If you're going to complain about someone being an attention whore, then you don't really have much right to complain because you're giving them attention in the first place.
