-86 You still hold up your hands in "L"s to tell right between left, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My brother does that as he's driving... Lol.

And then I get laughed at

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I just kind of pretend to hold a pencil and write something, and the hand that does it I know is my right.

I just know it without thinking about it. Same goes for cardinal directions. I don't use the "Never eat sour waffles" trick to remember it.

I thought it was Never Eat Soggy Waffles

I learned Never Eat Shredded Wheat..

I learned that one and Never Ever Smoke Weed.

I look at my wedding ring

I tell my sister which way to go when she's driving and do that. Sometimes I still get it wrong... wary

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Several times I've just pointed and said "That way!" instead of actually saying left or right

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I never did that, even as a kid. I was just driving with my mom when I was 3, she told me what's left and what's right, and I remembered.

I get my left and right mixed up constantly. I once got my brother lost on the way to my friend's house (who lives maybe three miles away) by saying right when I meant to say left. It happens all the time. :/

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'll admit I've had to do this a few times...

This is the first thing I do whenever I can't instantly remember. So this one day in my leadership class we had to do "Trust Walks" where one person is completely blindfolded and the other person has to lead them around the school with just the words "left, right, go, stop". So my partner told me to go left or something and since I couldn't see I couldn't use my hands to help me so I went right and went into the wall. :(

I've never understood why people have to do this. I learned left and right at a pretty young age, and I've never forgotten.

I always have to do this! I'm left-handed, and when I was little, everyone told me "right is the hand you //write// with." I still can't remember which one's which.
