I think all artists have something not quite normal going on in their brain. Why else would we focus specifically on one subject or have unique styles. As artists we see the world differently than others. amirite?

Well, you could argue that about everybody! Everyone sees the world differently based on their experiences and how they respond to those experiences, that's what makes other people so interesting :) Although, I do think a lot of artists have a cool way of showcasing their views through their art.

LOL hell no. Artists are not different or abnormal from other people. They're not any more unique than anyone else. Get over yourselves. This type of "omgz lolz im so unique!11" is why people think being an artist isnt credible.

Artists have the unique ability to take what's in their mind, or even a description of what's in someone else's mind, and put it into the real world. Your car design was created by an artist, as well as your coffee cup logo and your clothes. Even my chair took an artist's design to make. The reason that being an artist isn't often seen as a credible profession is because it's very hard to make it in the real world doing only that. There isn't always a market or a client for their work, and so they are often perceived as bums with no real jobs.
