+114 Just because someone is not yet old enough to vote doesn't mean they should be exempt from paying attention to the politics of, and about, the world around them, amirite?

I sure wish I cared enough to pay attention when I was to young to vote.

Hell, I'm old enough to vote, and I just don't care enough to listen. I think politics in general is full of bull shit, and even if you care enough to vote, there's no sure way to know if that person will actually follow up on their promises. These are just my opinions, by the way. I don't have anything against (most) people who involve themselves with politics, I just don't find it important enough to me to care.

But sometimes, as much as we don't like either side, as much as we become sick of the absurdity and overblown, impossible promises, as much as we lose faith, we still should pay attention. Because honestly, the way I see it, just because we don't pay attention and decide not to care doesn't expel the significance of the problem. The way to remove a problem is to solve it, and the first step towards solving a problem is understanding it, but we need to pay attention if we want to understand.

The voting age in the US is 18, right? But the drinking age is 21? Is that right? If so: HAHAHAHAHAHA. THAT'S RIDICULOUS.
