+44 Taxation should not be entirely based off of income, but on how time consuming, stressful, and necessary to the world the work they do is, and how unique their qualifications for the job are. Somebody who makes money solely off of investments in companies should be taxed more than a musician or surgeon, Amirite?

Problem: You can't properly gauge these things. (I know I've been commenting on your posts quite a bit but don't take them personally.. I just get my feathers ruffled up when I come across posts about the economy and business and such)

No, i honestly really appreciate an opposite side to these, i don't want people to just think "ahh, that sounds nice, i agree". this actually makes it easier for people to decide on their own, and inspires them to really pursue a better answer. I was just making an example of an ideal situation, not something we could apply by tomorrow. its just a goal. i think its possible and worthwhile to consider

music is USELESS! but that would be nice...

I see your point, but who's to be the one to judge how important a job is? And how do you determine who gets taxed how much? And eventually the system would become corrupted and its just not a feasible idea.

it could be a poitical topic that people could vote people to represent. there will always be flaws in everything, but I think that, if refined, the benefits will outweigh the flaws

I completely disagree with this post. this method would automatically judge people based on their supposed "contribution" to society. What's to say a musician is more important to the development of our culture than an investor who helps to fund a cure for a debilitating disease. And vice versa: Bach probably contributed more to human existence than say, an investor in FB, a company already worth billions. In essence, this proposal contributes to the already major issue of subjective loop holes in the tax code and would disadvantage many people.

You aren't disagreeing with the post, you are disagreeing with the idea that it's applicable to society, which i didn't say in the post that it was
