People with different views get along together all the time, just as much as people with the same view. The only time they don't really "get along" is when they're debating their views. Chances are if two people of different political/religious beliefs don't get along, it's for other reasons. It just seems like they get along less than those with the same views because people with the same views generally don't argue them to each other. You're not going to know someone's beliefs unless you hear them, so when you know the people's views and you see them argue them to people with different views, it makes it seem like people of different views don't get along.
