+52 If transporters were real, there would have to be someway to get rid of all the dirt and crap that was inadvertently beamed up with the away team, amirite?

I think it'd be fine if those were beamed up with you. With the way teleportation //should// work, each bit of atom would be transported in the precise spot that they were in before. I think that would be done with some sort of computer technology, to pin point the substances that would be traveling with you within a certain boundary (so as to not accidentally transport part of the teleporter with you). To do such a thing, however, each teleportation device would have to be built the exact same way. Not to say atoms are forbidden to be out of place, but the width, height, and length would all have to be the exact same size for each. And I think that can be troubling. I remember reading somewhere that we having literally teleported information. And by that I mean it hasn't been sent through an internet connection or anything of the sort, it was literally teleported. How this happened, I have no clue, but each small step counts and I'm sure that teleportation might become part of our culture in 50 or so years. That is, if it's done right with high accuracy (//nobody// would want to go through a faulty teleporter).

Simple fix- only beam materials that are made up of, or surrounded by organic compounds of at least 75% water. Hope I said that right.
